Welcome, the purpose of this website is to detail my professional and academic background. Thank you for taking the time to visit. This site was set up as a way for people to examine my background in more detail. The information was added to help explain my diverse experiences and to answer common questions I have received in conversations and in interviews. This site can also be used to prepare for an interview with me or to understand how my skills might fit with your company.

IDEAL POSITION
My ideal position is one that uses my diverse background and challenges me to think creatively and analytically while working with and leading people. As a creative/visionary person I enjoy growing projects or ideas (big or small) from the initial inception through the development stages; I have termed this idea incubation. This process requires big picture skills (generating ideas) along with attention to the details (writing). These are skills that I have developed and continually improve.


BACKGROUND
I hold a PhD in chemistry from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT and a BA in chemistry from Alfred University in Alfred, NY.  My experience includes research, sales, product management, regulatory compliance, chemical safety, market research, and business development.   I am comfortable in the science, business, and technical environments and have regularly interacted with professionals and experts from these areas. The ability to communicate with diverse audiences orally and in writing is a strength I bring to any setting.

The Science expertise that I bring is through my research background for academic and industrial projects. 

The Business experience I have is in project management, sales, marketing, and developing new business services.
My Technical expertise includes business analytics, chemical regulatory compliance, grant writing, and computer skills.


WHAT HAVE I DONE?

I have managed, marketed, sold, and developed projects, products, and services in the areas of chemical research, chemical safety, hazardous materials, chemical market research, microwave instrumentation, and chemistry consulting. The chemical research includes areas such as metal oxide synthesis, catalysis, environmental, coatings, and microwave research. The chemical safety services involve regulatory compliance assistance. The environmental work includes sampling and managing hazardous materials projects. The chemical market research includes researching information to develop market reports to assist companies with their business goals. The microwave instrumentation experience includes technical support, sales, and customer support. The chemistry consulting part involves developing and managing an applied research  program. Along with standard project work, I have developed new services and worked on business acquisition to enhance current services. 
I am currently finishing (December 2013) a Master of Science in Business Analytics and Project Management (MSBAPM) from the University of Connecticut to improve my project management, business analysis, and business skills.
